Each year in June the Potomac Playmakers holds its Annual Meeting, when the Board of Directors meets with members to report on the state of the organization. It also is the time when two At-Large members are elected to the Board. All paid members are eligible to vote, if their dues are paid at least two weeks prior to the Annual Meeting. This year the meeting will be held on June 29 at 11AM at the Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center. Membership dues are $20 and may be paid online HERE or mailed to The Potomac Playmakers at 17303 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown MD 21740. Dues must be received by June 15, 2024.

Momentarily ruffled, Tony soon sees the hitman’s death as an opportunity to have his wife convicted of murder. Working with an inspector from Scotland Yard, Tony plants the idea that Margot had planned the murder. Fortunately, the inspector and a friend of Margot’s eventually discover the truth. In a scene of almost unbearable suspense, they trick Tony into revealing his guilt, freeing Margot.
Margot Wendice: The charming, naïve, and wealthy wife of Tony, Margot has no idea that Tony knows of her past affair with Max, nor does she suspect that Tony is planning to murder her. F, 30s – 40s, any ethnicity.
Max Halliday: An American murder mystery writer, Max had an affair with Margot during the time Tony was playing professional tennis tournaments in America. He is still in love with Margot and comes to visit the couple in London. M, 30s – 50s, any ethnicity.
Tony Wendice: Margot’s husband, Tony is a former professional tennis player who married Margot for her money. He is selfish and arrogant and has an elaborate scheme to murder Margot because of jealousy over a past affair between Margot and Max. M, 30s – 40s, any ethnicity.
Captain Lesgate: An old schoolmate of Tony’s and a convicted criminal, Lesgate is now being blackmailed by Tony into murdering Margot. He seems willing to do anything for money. M, 30s – 40s, any ethnicity.
Inspector Hubbard: A British Inspector of Police, head of the investigation after murder attempt against Margot. Hubbard is a bit eccentric, but thoughtful and thorough. M, 40s – 60s, any ethnicity.
Thompson: A police officer. Any age, any ethnicity.

The Potomac Playmakers is proud to present William Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, directed by Caitlin Cutright.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream follows the misadventures of four young lovers, a group of aspiring actors, and a team of mischievous fairies as they all enter the woods outside Athens, America in the 1970s, on a summer night. The ensuing hilarity and chaos create an evening filled with love and laughter. This is a family friendly event. Wear your 70’s vintage to flaunt your vibe.
Performances are January 13, 2024 @ 3PM & 8PM, and January 14 @ 3PM. Tickets are $18, but on orders of 10 or more tickets are discounted to $15 for any of the performances, so bring your school or community group.
