Auditions for Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” Oct 7 & 8 at 7pm
Auditions for The Tempest will be held at the Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center beginning at 7pm on Oct 7 & 8. Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script. All ages welcome.
Performances will be January 18th at 3pm and 8pm, and January19th at 3pm.

Nunsense II moves opening night to Saturday September 14, 2024
Sadly we had to cancel our original opening night, Friday September 13, so this hilarious musical comedy will open the following night, Saturday, September 14. The run continues with the rest of the planned schedule, which also includes Sept 15, 20, 21 & 22.

Auditions For “A View from the Bridge” August 26-27 @ 7PM
The Potomac Playmakers proudly announce auditions for the second show of the 2024-2025 Season, the Arthur Miller drama “A View From The Bridge.” The play is set in 1950s America, in an Italian-American neighborhood near the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. It employs a chorus and narrator in the character of Alfieri. Eddie, the tragic protagonist, has an improper love for, and almost an obsession with, Catherine, his wife Beatrice’s orphaned niece, so he does not approve of her courtship of Beatrice’s cousin Rodolpho. The play addresses the tensions between community loyalty and the trials of becoming an American.
Produced with kind permission from Dramatists Play Service, “A View From The Bridge” will be directed by Cathy James. Audition dates are scheduled for August 26 & 27, 2024 at 7PM, at the Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center, located at 17303 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The script includes fifteen roles, including males from 20’s to 50’s, and females from 17 to their 60’s. Some roles may be adjusted to accommodate the cast, and performers of all races, genders, and creeds are encouraged to audition. Audition forms can be downloaded HERE.

The 2024-25 Season is Here!
Starting with the musical comedy in September, “Nunsense II: the Second Coming” is hilarious. Following in October is “Rocky Horror Picture Show with LIVE Shadow Cast”, again for the Halloween season. In November, the classic drama by Arthur Miller is “A View from the Bridge”. In January we turn to Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”. Our winter program, “The Cemetery Club” by Ivan Menchell is a comedy not unlike the golden girls we all love, and there will be two matinees plus an evening per weekend for that show. The final show in June will be a rip-roaring Jones Hope Wooten comedy, “Honky Tonk Hissy Fit”, also including two matinees. For more info and tickets, click HERE.
