Washington County Gives
The Potomac Playmakers participated the 2018 Washington County Gives fundraiser. The fundraiser allows community non-profit organizations to receive matching funds for donations pledged during the event. The playmakers raised $2,400 in donations. We also received a generous $1,000 grant from the Hershey Family Foundation. With matching funds, Potomac Playmakers should receive over $3,700 from the event. A big thank you to the community foundation of Washington County, all of the sponsors, and all of the donors. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Third annual one act play festival features local playwrights.
For the third installment of Potomac Playmakers’ one act play festival, the playmakers solicited entries from local playwrights. Three local playwrights will be featured in this year’s festival. Amelia Lowry, author of “A mother’s love,” is from Hagerstown and recently graduated from the BISFA. Jeffrey Marcum, who penned “Tailored,” resides in Martinsburg, WV. And Charlie Perkins, from Charlestown, WV, is the author of “Where’s Gus?”
These three one act plays will be performed at the women’s club on July 13 and 14 at 8:00, and July 15 at 3:00. Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted to defray the costs of stage rental, props, and costumes.
